The Halal Boys concept same with The Halal Guys stall in New York. I watched Fung Bros Food a lot in YouTube and they posted a video about The Halal Guys. In New York it self it cost only $1 but in here it's quite overrated for me.
I passed by their stand like every single day. One day I was very hungry, and i decided to bought it in my way back from office. Outdoor place but very chic and cozy. All ingredient already cooked and we don't need to wait for a long time. They have chicken, lamb, and half & half over rice which a combination between chicken and lamb. I ordered chicken and lamb. Take a look guys!
Taste was okay for me, this one consist of lamb, chicken, lettuce and pita bread. The portion was huge, but i was super hungry and i ate them all. They gave me 3 sauces, white, red and brown sauce. The white one i believe is combination between mayonnaise, yogurt and other herbs. The Brown sauce is BBQ sauce and the red sauce is a ultra super spicy #caution.
The rice cooked with many herbs and tasted like "Nasi kebuli" but lighter. The lamb and chicken lil bit dry for me and full of herbs and spices but when i ate them all together, it was a balance dish.
In conclusion, for me it's overrated, the price was very high, for lamb and chicken rice cost Rp 55.000,-. Will i come again? Maybe... Because one time visit is enough for me. I prefer eat "Nasi Kebuli" rather than thi lamb and Chicken rice from The Halal Boys.
